This Pornstar Martini has to be the current “in” Cocktail and is made with Passion Fruit, Vodka & Champagne (traditionally anyway, but we cheat as many others do and use Prosecco)…
Made with Absolut Vanilla Vodka, Pessoa, Prosecco and a squeeze of lime juice the Pornstar Martini is outselling all other cocktails here in Windermere village and Bowness. It’s a little sweet but the blends and tones compliment each other nicely.
There are a few variations of the presentation, with some bars presenting the Fizz in a side glass, but we like this recipe for its ease and practicality:
We sell coffee, we’re a coffee bar, so it just wouldn’t be right for us to refuse the Espresso Martini Cocktail.
Made with premium Grey Goose Vodka and freshly brewed Farrer’s coffee (plus a little bit of magic) this is a light and refreshing drink that many coffee lovers will enjoy.
For those wishing to make their own, it’s really quite an easy cocktail to make, why not watch the following video from Jamie Oliver’s DrinksTube channel? Notice the ice in the glass to the side as the cocktail is being made – very important!
A classic fruity cocktail best made with fresh strawberries, the daiquiri is a sweet flavoured drink served in a stemmed glass. With a base of white rum mixed with lime juice this particular cocktail is a real delight.
– White Rum
– Fresh Strawberries
– Lime Juice
Add fresh strawberries to a cocktail shake and muddle to a pulp. Add the white rum and some sugar then fill the shaker with ice.
Shake for no less than 20 seconds and double strain into a chilled glass (no ice). Garnish with a strawberry.
Loosely based on the classic French 75 cocktail our version simply replaces the champagne with prosecco. A light and fruity cocktail served in a Flute type glass with a gin base.
– Dry Gin
– Lemon Juice
Fill a cocktail shaker with cubed ice and pour in the gin and lemon juice. Shake for no less than 10 seconds and then double strain into the Flute glass. Fill the glass with prosecco (be careful not to fizz), and garnish with a citrus twist.
The Mojito is a blend of white rum, fresh lime juice and soda water. The purity of this particular cocktail comes from the way the oils are extracted from the peel of the lime. Soda water and fresh mint complete this very popular cocktail.
– Fresh Lime
– Fresh Mint
– White Rum
– Soda Water
Using the palm of your hand roll the lime on your worktop, this will generate the essential skin oils required. Cut a slice approximately 1 cm thick and quarter it. Add this to your highball glass.
Then, add in to this 7 or 8 ‘rubbed’ mint leaves (not the stalks), and some sugar. Use a muddle to press the lime pieces, sugar and mint leaves together to create a syrup in the base of the glass.
Add in the white rum, fill the glass three quarters full with crushed ice and top with soda water. Gently stir the drink and garnish with more lime and mint.
Dark rum, ginger beer (not to be mistaken for ginger ale) and fresh lime juice complete this popular cocktail. Created in Bermuda after WW1 one of the essential ingredients is the rum, it must be Gosling’s Black Seal!
– Gosling Black Seal Rum
– Ginger Beer
– Fresh lime juice
– Lime for garnish
Another simple cocktail recipe where the emphasis is on the perfect balance of ingredients rather than the theatre.
Add ice, rum, ginger beer and the juice of fresh lime into your choice of glass (traditionally a highball but just as good in a double rocks glass for a slightly stronger brew). Stir and garnish with fresh lime.
